When it comes to businesses, the term "successful" isn't necessarily connected to "multimillion venture". As an entreprenuer, your main goal is to first: setup a business that can endure the toughest of times, and second: expand the business. This is especially true for home based businesses such as this Philippines outsourcing company. It is more important to start a stable venture which is guaranteed to give you constant income than setup a business which will give you a huge profit for one season and then fade away after that. Before you start counting your profit, you have to find a business idea that will sell. Finding one is easy, but choosing the best one can be a bit challenging. Here are a couple of ways you can decide which idea you should pursue:
1. Examine your own skill sets. What talents and skills do you have which you can use as a basis for your business? How do people know you? What are the things that you've done in the past that people are willing to pay for?
The original plan for The Global Employer was to offer a wide range of outsourcing solutions including professional writing services, autocad drafting and even small business acccounting. I am a writer, so i knew we wouldn't have trouble offering that service. I also have a partner who's an engineer and is adept with cad designs. Unfortunately, no one in our group could do accounting, so that's a service we cannot offer at this time.
If you are known for your good analytical skills, then you can perhaps setup your own consulting firm. There are people I know who love sports and have setup their own sports shop. Think about what you are passionate with and determine how much you know about it. It is important that you are knowledgeable about your business so you can run it properly.
2. Keep up with current events. You'll be amazed at how many business ideas your brain can develop while you're watching the news. Through updated bulletins, you will also have an idea on the current market trends and the latest craze you can utilize to create a profitable venture.
For example, with the declaration of the Philippines as a top outsourcing destination for 2009, more and more companies abroad are deciding to transfer their operations here. Also, cheap air travel has prompted the rise in the number of travel agencies everywhere in the world.
3. Invent a new product or service. Look at your target market and think about a product or service that's not being met. Ask yourself, "what situations can I help improve?" Ask people for additional products or services they'd like to see.
For instance, the Black Friday has caused so much trouble in the US that more and more websites are now offering Black Friday deals to their customers. Now, you can actually shop at home, and get huge discounts! You don't even have to deal with the hours of traffic or the long lines at the cashier.
4. Add value to an existing product. Putting additional processes to a product increases its value. For example, The Global Employer offers professional writing services and article submission so our clients don't have to deal with multiple providers! If you are planning to purchase a product, what can you do to them or with them to create a more profitable venture? If you are planning to setup a travel agency, you can allow your clients to customize their itinerary, thereby allowing you to setup a local tour guide service!
